The Ladakh Apricot Cluster brings together women-led SHGs, farmer families, and village-level producers working with one of Ladakh’s most loved Himalayan fruits. From sun-dried apricots to jams, kernels, and value-added products, this cluster connects traditional knowledge with dignified rural livelihoods.

CLUSTER STORY
Apricot is deeply connected with the landscape, food culture, and household economy of Ladakh. In many villages, apricot trees are part of family orchards and community memory. Women and farmer families collect, sort, dry, preserve, and process the fruit using traditional practices, while newer enterprise systems help improve packaging, quality, traceability, and market access.
Through Amaley, the Ladakh Apricot Cluster is positioned not only as a product category, but as a livelihood story — linking place, people, produce, and purpose.
