Seabuckthorn grows naturally in Ladakh’s harsh cold desert landscape, especially around river belts and mountain slopes. For local communities, it represents resilience, nutrition, and the untapped value of Himalayan biodiversity.
Through Amaley, the Seabuckthorn Cluster supports local women, SHGs, and producer families to collect, clean, process, and package seabuckthorn-based products with improved quality, hygiene, branding, and market access. The cluster helps convert a difficult-to-harvest local berry into a livelihood-linked wellness product.
